Shooting Against the Dark
After working for nine years my first feature film GONE will have its World Premiere at Midnight Sun Film Festival in a week! More festival screenigs are upcoming and the film will have arrive to theaters all over Finland next autumn.

I am Arttu Haglund, 41, a film director, screenwriter and editor. In November 2009, I graduated as a Bachelor of Culture and Arts from Tampere University of Applied Sciences, School of Art and Media. I am working in Amazement, a production company I founded. I've directed and written around twenty films and edited many more. My first feature film GONE will be released in theatres nationwide next autumn.
For me, cinema is primarily about ambience and atmosphere. It's moments put together. Films are observations of the world and people. Sometimes exact and precise, sometimes less tangible. A movie, in essence, is not a story, as is often claimed. It doesn't tell - it shows. And I aim to show.
This website is supposed to give you a glimpse from my world. The showreel and photo gallery give you an idea of what I used to do ten years ago. Back then, it seems, I used to have more time to do stuff. Even update websites.
